A 'tour de force', these sunflowers in pure watercolour are by the celebrated Royal Academician, Norman Adams. A gifted artist who was both a traveller and a spiritual soul, Adams taught for most of his life holding positions finally as both Keeper of the Royal Academy and Professor of Painting. His mature work embraced large, luminous watercolours which have been described as visual poetry. He was drawn to working in the Outer Hebrides and Norrth Yorkshire as much as in Andalucia, Italy and Provence. His work is held in many public collections including the Tate Gallery, The Whitworth Gallery, Manchester, and the Hepworth, Yorkshire.
