Geoffrey Robinson studied at the Bournemouth College of Art in the early 1960's; he had a career initially in advertising and in the music industry but returned to painting full time in the late 1980's. Much of his work from this period is abstract but draws upon a fine interplay of line and rhythm across the canvas, sometimes the ideas relate directly to music, sometimes to the passage of time. He has had several one man shows, particularly with Anthony Hepworth Gallery.
The Russell Coates Art Gallery & Museum now holds his work, as do several prominent private collectors.
